
Publisher of Ovation Magazine Dele Momodu, has lent support to the newly unveiled campaign by the Obidient movement aimed at curbing electoral malpractice.
Obidient Movement comprises of supporters of Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The group recent launched a campaign aimed at protecting Obi’s vote in the 2027 presidential election.
The former Anambra State governor has assured them that he will contest the next presidential election, even though the political platform on which he wish to prosecute the election is not yet known.
Obi is linked to the coalition platform, rbs the African Democratic Congress (ADC), but he has not renounced his membership of the Labour Party.
The Obidients initiative, named “GO MED,” was officially introduced in Abuja by the movement’s coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, just days before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins its next phase of voter registration.
Tanko had announced, “Today, August 14, 2025 — only four days before INEC begins another round of voter registration — we stand united in response to the urgent call from Nigerians to save our nation and build a new one.
“The Obidient Movement is proud to launch this new campaign. A new Nigeria is possible. Get your PVC and join GO MED.”
According to him, “GO MED stands for ‘Get Organized’ and ‘Make Election Rigging Difficult.’ I repeat: Get organized. Make election rigging difficult.”
Momodu who is a chief of the ADC, shared the video of the Obidient campaign launch on his Instagram page on Friday, August 15, with the headline: “Rigging Days Are Over! Obidients Roll Out Secret Operation for Peter Obi’s Victory.”
