
Suspended Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara, did not vote in the Saturday’s local government election in Rivers State.
The governor supposed to vote at Ward 5 in Opobo Nkoro Local Government Area where he registered as a voter, but he failed to show up.
The ward also witnessed low turnout of voters.
Fubara who was suspended from office following state of emergency declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu, supervised the October 2024 local government election, which was annulled by the Supreme Court, for violations of the Electoral Act.
This time, Ibokette Ibas who was appointed Sole Administrator in March this year, hand picked officials of Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), that is overseeing the conduct of the present exercise.
No reason was given why Fubara did not vote at the election. Some residents however, said he was out of town.
