Government Technical College (GTC) Akama-Oghe has been declared winner of the first edition of Senator Osita Ngwu quiz competition among secondary schools in Enugu West senatorial zone.
The school beat Community Secondary School Olo to the second position while St. Paul’s Secondary School Eke came third, and Ngwo Girls’ Secondary School, fourth.
For emerging victorious, GTC Akama-Oghe smiled home with the sum of N500,000, while the runner-up, Community Secondary School Olo goes home with N300,000, and St. Paul’s Secondary School Eke, N200,000.
Ngwo Girls’ Secondary School went home with a consolation prize of N50,000.
Other secondary schools that took part in the final contest on Decem December 8, were CSS Udi-Abia, Technical College Secondary School Udi, CSS Nsude, CSS Ugwuoba, Corpus Christi High School Achi, NCSS Isikwe Achi, Aguobu Owa High School, Urban Secondary School Agwu, Technical College Mgbidi, TVC Mgbowo, Special Science School Ezinese Uduma, and Special Science School Ihe.
Senator Ngwu who represents Enugu West in the Senate organised the competition through his office on human capital development.
He promised to make the competition an annul event, to promotion education and learning in the zone.
