The Federal Government said over 250,000 Nigerian women have registered for its EmpowerHER financial literacy programme.
The Initiative, which is in partnership with Kudimata Nigeria Ltd, is aimed at empowering millions of women nationwide with practical skills in financial management, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship.
Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, at the launch of the programme in Abuja, described the initiative as a cornerstone of national transformation that places knowledge and financial capability at the centre of empowerment.
“With EmpowerHER, we are laying the foundation for a financially literate and economically empowered generation of Nigerian women, one that will strengthen families, communities, and our nation,” the minister stated.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kudimata Nigeria Ltd, Kathleen Erhimu, said EmpowerHER is a national movement aimed at ensuring that every Nigerian woman has access to knowledge, and confidence to grow wealth, build businesses, and shape her own destiny.
The EmpowerHER Programme is accessible through the Happy Woman Platform.
The empowerment framework includes financial and digital literacy, entrepreneurship development, access to finance, mentorship and peer learning, as well as linkages to empowerment and opportunity networks.
