Senate Minority Whip Senator Osita Ngwu, has assured Akama Community that it would be in his priority list among communities that will be given attention in his first term in office.
The Senator who spoke on Tuesday when he received members of Akama Oghe Improvement Union (AOIU) in Abuja, on a courtesy visit, noted that though he has total of 81 political wards, none would be left behind.
Ngwu who represents Enugu West senatorial zone, said he would collaborate with other political leaders at both levels of government, for the infrastructure development of the zone.
He however lamented the delay in release of budgetary allocations by the Federal Government but promised to factor the needs of Akama Oghe Community in the 2026 budget.
Senator Ngwu also promised to intervene in the employment of qualified Akama indigenes in federal agencies, and directed that credentials of such persons should be sent to his personal assistant.
Earlier Chairman of Akama Oghe Improvement Union, Comrade Felix Ifoh, had solicited the Senator’s intervention in the road leading to Akama Oghe farmland, as it will “encourage our people to return and be more committed to agriculture, which is the mainstay of
our economy.”
The community also wants his assistance to secure employment opportunities for our children to avoid them being “exposed to unbridled criminal activities which will negatively
tarnish the good image of our families and our community at large.”
They also demanded building skill acquisition centre in Akama Oghe community and said “it will deepen the value chain for employment opportunities for our youths and enable them to be self-employed.
“The skill acquisition centre, if constructed, will be closer and cheaper in terms of accessibility to the youths.”
The community pledged its unwavering solidarity and support to the Senator at all times, and commended him “for the quality, robust and purposeful representations” at the National Assembly.
