As part of activities marking the 2023 New Yam festival of Ihuanyia Community of Oghe, Ezeagu Local Government, the Ihuonyia League of Professionals undertook a free medical outreach to people of the community.
The four-day activity, which began on October 6, the eve of the annual feast, with the general treatment and ophthalmic screening and provision of reading glasses, climaxed with free hernia, lumps and other minor surgeries, on October 9.
President of the League, Prof. Ken Ozoilo, disclosed that the organisation spent over N1.5 million in the exercise.
Prof. Ozoilo said the exercise was part of the league’s contribution for the welfare and health of the people of Ihuonyia Community.
A member of the community Sur. Marcel Okolie, commended Prof. Ozoilo and other members of the League of Professionals, for undertaking to provide free medical services to the people.
Sur. Okolie called on other associations and groups in Ihuonyia, to emulate the League, so as to foster the welfare and development of the community.
