The oba of the Benin Kingdom, Ewuare II, said leader of Indigenous People’s of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is man of history.
Oba in a statement said history will not forget Kanu in a hurry, adding, “I am witnessing history unfold before my eyes.
“A man like Nnamdi Kanu still walks this earth — a man who placed the liberation of his people above his own bloodline. Such men are rare.”
Oba Ewuare offered to step down immediately as Oba of Benin “If you can show me any man in Africa who has sacrificed his own mother and father for the freedom of his people the way Nnamdi Kanu has.”
The oba said people said “Igbos love money” — yet Nnamdi Kanu proved them wrong.
They claimed “the South-East and South-South can never unite” — yet Kanu built a bridge no politician could build.
They mocked him, saying “he will abandon Biafra once he cashes out” — yet he remains in detention despite an alleged ₦500 billion offer to drop his struggle.
They insisted “Igbos don’t love themselves” — yet Nnamdi Kanu’s sacrifice has become a symbol of Igbo unity and resilience.
“You can imprison a man, but not his vision,” the Oba added. “Kanu’s name will echo in the hearts of generations yet unborn.”
For years, critics and political opponents have hurled countless accusations at the Biafran agitator.
